We now have three weekly Thai Boxing classes at Kingston Jiu Jitsu. The classes are held at Tiffin Sports Centre on Tuesday evenings from 7-8 pm, Thursday evenings from 6-7 pm and Saturday afternoons from 4-5 pm. These classes are open to everyone, not just Kingston Jiu Jitsu members, and can be attended for a drop-in fee of £20. We also have a Thai Boxing only membership option.

We also have kids Muay Thai classes every Tuesday evening at Tiffin Sports Centre starting at 5 pm.

Thai boxing, or Muay Thai as the Thai people call it, is a traditional art of self-defence of the Thais. It is different from international boxing in that in the Thai style of unarmed fighting, feet, elbows and knees are used as well as fists.

Our Muay Thai kickboxing classes are taught by Charlie Villaroman. Charlie began his martial arts training in 2005 with Taekwondo, in which he is currently a 2nd Dan black belt. After competing in several tournaments, he became an assistant instructor in 2008. Charlie started training in Muay Thai kickboxing at Roger Gracie Academy in London in 2015, and this quickly became his main focus. Charlie has gained considerable experience coaching Muay Thai and kickboxing since then. He became a personal trainer in 2018, and most of his clients also train in Muay Thai kickboxing with him. In addition to his considerable experience in the striking arts, Charlie has also been training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu since 2011 and currently holds the rank of purple belt.
