Yoga Classes

We are very excited to announce that we now have a weekly Yoga class at Kingston Jiu Jitsu. The classes are held at St. John’s Parish Hall on Thursday evenings from 8.30-9.30 pm. These classes are open to everyone, not just our club members, and can be attended for a drop in fee of £10. 

Our Yoga classes are taught by Caroline Herman. Caroline first discovered yoga nearly 20 years ago and her passion for it has grown over the years. She’s been fortunate enough to meet some amazing teachers along the way that continue to inspire her. Following a yoga immersion course with Tuesday Mcneil, she undertook the British Wheel of Yoga foundation course and then went on to do the Yoga Alliance Teacher Training course with Louise Cashin, Yoga Nidra training (Yoga Nidra Network) and is also qualified to teach meditation (under Swami Saradananda).

Caroline strongly believes that Yoga is for everyone and that whatever bought you to the mat is more than enough to get started. Whether you are a runner and want to prevent injury, a mum who wants some peace/me time, someone who spends a lot of time at a screen and wants to open and relax the shoulders, or maybe someone who has been through mental or physical fatigue and wants to nourish themselves – there is something for everyone.

Caroline’s husband is a jiu jitsu blue belt at Kingston Jiu Jitsu, which gives her a unique insight into the physical toll that jiu jitsu can take, and how Yoga can help.

Off the mat, she has many other interests including swimming at Hampton Pool in the fresh air, cycling (completed the London 100 bike ride in 2017), going to the gym and she campaigns hard for Action for Children (preventing youth homelessness in the UK).
